Frederic Leighton

Frederic Leighton, 1st Baron Leighton, was an eminent British painter, sculptor, and draughtsman born on December 3, 1830. He is renowned for his exquisite academic style that permeated the Victorian era's art scene and his contributions to the neoclassical movement in European art. Leighton was a pivotal figure, celebrated for his meticulous craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a profound mastery of historical subjects, mythology, and portraiture. Born in Scarborough, Yorkshire, Leighton was deeply influenced by classical antiquity throughout his life. Subsequently, he attended the Royal Academy Schools in London, where his prodigious talent quickly garnered recognition.
