Walther Gamerith
Austria 1903-1949
Walter Gamerith pursued his artistic education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, under the guidance of Karl Sterrer. He completed his studies in 1930 and embarked on a journey throughout Europe. From 1934 onward, he exhibited a range of portraits, nude paintings, and landscapes at the Vienna Künstlerhaus, which recognized his talents and elected him as a member in 1939.
His artistic repertoire encompassed not only Parisian and Italian themes but also studies from Attersee and Eggenburg. In 1939, he represented Austria at a show in Berlin, further showcasing his versatility and skill. Five years later, in 1944, a collective exhibition was held at the Künstlerhaus, featuring 46 of his works, a testament to his prolific and diverse output.
